Philip Serna, MD

Many of Dr. Serna’s family members are physicians, so he wanted to follow in their footsteps, choosing a career of caring for people. He attended Illinois Benedictine College to earn his undergraduate degree. From there, he attended Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico and the State University of New York and trained at Brookdale Hospital.  He also trained at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, an affiliate of University of Illinois. Dr. Serna has been affiliated with the American Medical Association, Illinois State Medical Society and Will Grundy Medical Society.

 

Dr. Serna is committed to caring for his patients. He encourages them to communicate freely with him and become actively involved and conscientious in their lifestyle choices. Being a part of Will County Medical Associates allows him access to contemporary resources that provide better care for his patients.  He finds helping patients to be a rewarding privilege. He is also interested in supporting the area’s Hispanic population with medical care.

 

 Dr. Serna enjoys reading, music and traveling with his family.  He and his wife are raising three children, and share their home with two dogs.
