Louis Papaeliou, DO, MPH

Dr. Papaeliou has known he wanted to be a doctor since he was only five-years-old, after visiting his family’s general practitioner. He pursued his dream at Loyola University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Illinois.

 

Dr. Papaeliou is affiliated with the Central States Occupational Medical Association and was awarded a fellowship in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He focuses his energy on prevention that saves lives and reduces overall healthcare costs. Being able to contribute to a patient’s recovery, such as treating back pain, or counseling them about smoking, dietary improvements and exercise is what he enjoys best in his practice. He likes the teamwork of treating patients who contribute actively to their own recovery.

 

When he’s not treating patients, he spends time with his family, enjoys cooking and is a dog-training enthusiast. He and his wife, Judy, share their lives with five children and three dogs.
